Best Places to Eat in Seattle During the World Cup 2026

Seattle is hosting World Cup matches this summer, which means a lot of visitors asking where to eat. I live here — these are the spots I'd actually take you to.

Whether you need a quick bite before kickoff, a place to celebrate a win, or somewhere special for your one nice dinner in the city, this list has you covered.

Heads up on reservations

Spinasse, The Walrus and the Carpenter, and Sushi By Scratch book up fast — especially on match days. Reserve now if you're visiting during the tournament.

Quick Bites

Fast, satisfying, and worth the line. These are your pre-game and post-game options.

Caribbean · Ballard · $

The Caribbean roast pork sandwich here is legendary — slow-roasted, perfectly spiced, piled onto fresh bread. There's usually a line, and it's worth it. Get the hot sauce on the side and add it yourself. This is the kind of sandwich you'll think about on your flight home.

Japanese · Capitol Hill · $

When you need something fast, filling, and satisfying, this is it. Authentic tonkotsu ramen, customizable spice levels, and you're in and out in 30 minutes. Perfect before or after a match.

Coffee & Sweets

Seattle takes coffee seriously. These are the spots worth breaking from the tourist trail for.

Vietnamese Coffee · International District · $

Strong Vietnamese coffee with sweetened condensed milk. Small shop, big caffeine. This is where I go when I need to actually wake up. The iced version is perfect if you're visiting in summer.

Cafe · Pike Place · $

If you're doing the Pike Place tourist thing anyway, skip the Starbucks and come here instead. Top floor, cozy seating, great pastries. The cinnamon rolls are dangerously good.

Dessert · Wallingford · $

Japanese soft serve that's worth seeking out. Creamy, not too sweet, and they rotate seasonal flavors. Good for a warm afternoon after exploring the city.

Casual Dinner

Good food, reasonable prices, no fuss. These are the places I take people who want a real Seattle meal without the ceremony.

Italian · Capitol Hill · $$

Authentic Italian pizza with house-made ingredients. The Tokio pizza with mushrooms is the move. Cozy spot, solid wine list, and it doesn't feel touristy. Good for a relaxed dinner with a group.

Lao · Capitol Hill · $$

This is the kind of place most visitors would never find. Lao cuisine — bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and the Lao burger is a must-try. Casual vibe, interesting food, and you'll feel like you discovered something.

Vietnamese Fusion · Capitol Hill · $$

Vietnamese meets American with creative cocktails. The pho and banh mi are solid, but this place is really about the vibe — lively, fun atmosphere in the heart of Capitol Hill. Make a reservation for weekends.

BBQ · South Lake Union · $$

Newer spot with excellent brisket. They drizzle honey on it and it works. Good sides, casual setting, and close to downtown. Solid choice if your group wants meat and beer.

Worth the Splurge

These are the restaurants that make Seattle feel like a proper food city. Worth planning around.

Oysters · Ballard · $$$

Fresh oysters, great wine, and a rustic-chic vibe that feels very Seattle. This place is always packed for a reason. Go during happy hour for discounted oysters, or just accept the wait and enjoy it. One of my favorites in the city.

Italian · Capitol Hill · $$$

Handmade pasta done right. The Tajarin al Tartufo (truffle pasta) is what they're known for, and it lives up to the hype. Intimate, romantic, perfect for a date night or a dinner where you want to slow down. Reserve ahead.

Seafood · Ballard · $$$

Waterfront views, fresh seafood, and one of the best sunset spots in Seattle. The miso glazed sable fish is excellent. This is where you take someone when you want to impress them. Book a table with a view.

British · Ballard · $$

Sunday roast done properly — roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, all the sides, covered in gravy. If you're here on a Sunday and want something hearty, this is the spot. Cozy, unpretentious, and satisfying.

One Special Night

Omakase · Downtown · $$$$

17-course omakase in a hidden whisky bar. Only 10 seats per seating. This is the kind of meal you remember for years — wild-caught jellyfish, bone marrow nigiri, and courses you've never seen before. Book well in advance. Not cheap, but worth it if you want one unforgettable meal.
